Letter #6: A Disturbing Connection
Dear Fellow American,
In my previous letter, I covered fraud in the 2024 elections. In this letter, I wish to highlight the concerning connection between Donald Trump and Romania's Russian election interference.
Some have told me that my last letter was speculative and lacking substance. I disagree. Requesting further investigation into democratic erosion, based on verifiable evidence, is not speculative. Rather, it is the duty of a citizen.
I make the same request here.
Romania's Election Annulment
In case you're not up to speed, the December 2 Romanian election results were annulled by Romania's Constitutional Court due to irrefutable evidence of Russian interference. Most significantly, documents revealed that the winning candidate, Calin Georgescu, won the election due to "preferential treatment" by TikTok.
TikTok and Russia deny these claims, but what else would you expect? The evidence is undoubtedly there.
In the two weeks approaching the election, the previously obscure and independent, winning candidate amassed thousands of support accounts, millions of views, and hundreds of thousands of followers - only on TikTok.
The Romanian President, Klaus Iohannis, declassified files he received from the secret intelligence services indicating that both state and nonstate actors had interfered in the election, and named Russia as responsible for a series of aggressive hybrid attacks. This has all been supported by the United States.
Additionally, in the weeks since this crisis, Romania has thwarted attempts by Russian mercenaries to engage in a J6-style plot, including the violent disruption of peaceful protests and the intimidation of key judges and election officials.
Trump's Connection to Romania
When it comes to Romania's elections, one doesn't naturally make a connection to the United States, but there is one. The connection is Donald Trump, and I have listed the connections below.
Far Right Policies
The winner of the annulled election was Calin Georgescu, a far right candidate who two weeks prior was a relatively unknown and obscure independent who had roughly 30,000 followers on TikTok.
Within a fortnight, he had 330,000 followers, 25,000 new pro-Georgescu accounts, and millions of video views.
What is most striking about Georgescu are his claims, which are nationalist far right, and strikingly similar, if not the same, to Trump. Some of these include:
Claiming national sovereignty
Restoring national dignity
Vowing to remove Ukrainian aid
Spreading disinformation about Covid, climate change, and vaccines
Being open to pulling out of NATO
Complimenting Vladimir Putin's "Russian wisdom"
And while Georgescu claims, like Trump, that he's not pro-Russia, one must wonder why, then, almost all of his promises would benefit them.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
RFK Jr. is well known for his unsubstantiated healthcare claims, especially when it comes to the correlation between vaccines and autism. In fact, his lawyer, just this week, filed with the FDA to remove its approval of the polio vaccine.
Nevertheless, he is Trump's pick to lead the Department of Health.
Unsurprisingly, Calin Georgescu wrote the foreword for the Romanian translation of RFK Jr.'s new book, The Real Anthony Fauci: Bill Gates, Big Pharma, and the Global War on Democracy and Public Health.
Shortly after results came in of the surprise far-right win (and before the scandal), the media announced that RFK Jr. would be coming to Romania to do a live interview with Georgescu. In fact, it was all over the news.
But once the election was annulled, things changed, and the visit would have been seen as an endorsement of Georgescu by the incoming Trump administration, which would be in direct conflict with the Hatch Act.
The US ambassador to Romania quickly denied the claim:
"There is no official support from the American side for candidate Georgescu. President Trump's team denied that any American official of the future administration would travel to Romania in the next period to participate in events with candidate Georgescu. The information is false."
I think it's clear what happened here. Amid an international scandal involving Russian interference, the US wanted to save face.
Fair enough, but that doesn't erase the involvement of one of Trump's top cabinet picks with a far-right Romanian candidate propped up by Russian election interference.
Brad Parscale
Brad Parscale was the campaign manager for Donald Trump during his 2016 run for the presidency. In fact, he was a MAGA hero, many claiming he engineered the win.
Parscale fell out of grace with Trump in his 2020 run, but he was back on the campaign trail again this year, this time touting the revolutionary AI tools he had at his disposal.
Is it not strange then that he, as someone intricately connected to Trump (but not bound by the Hatch Act as RFK Jr.), would run immediately to the aid of a far right candidate in...Romania? Did Trump send him?
Would it not have been the job of the president-elect to instruct his campaign managers not to become involved with a candidate surrounded by claims of Russian interference into the democratic elections of a NATO ally?
I'm sorry, but this is strange no matter what way you look at it.
Donald Trump Jr.
Should Trump's son, Donald Trump Jr., have a vested interest in Romanian politics? I think not, but his actions say otherwise. Shortly after the Romanian election annulment, Jr. made his views quite clear.
Posts like this are not simple thoughts on a matter. They are a direct attempt to negatively influence the democratic institutions of another nation (and ally) that found enough credible evidence of Russian interference to annul their election.
Siegfried Muresan, member of the European Parliament and Vice President of
the European People's Party, summed this up quite clearly in his response post.
I'll leave it up to you to decide whether Trump Jr. should have commented publicly, or why he even felt the need.
Trump and Russian Election Interference
Donald Trump has been marred by speculation of involvement with Russia since his 2016 election, in which there was a mountain of evidence pointing to Russian interference.
Comey's memo
In 2017, Trump's national security advisor, Michael Flynn, was forced to step down, after FBI surveillance revealed he was lying about conversations with the Russian ambassador regarding a Russian investigation into the Clintons.
The Director of the FBI at the time, James Comey, later testified in Congress about the existence of the Russia investigation, confirming there was election interference in 2016.
A memo later surfaced, written by Comey, that summarized a conversation he had with Trump at the White House, where Trump asked him to pledge fealty, indirectly requesting that he drop the FBI’s investigation of Flynn.
Flynn recently lost a lawsuit, where he sued for defamation of character. He was guilty as sin.
Putin's inner circle
Concerning the more recent elections, Nikolai Patrushev, part of Putin's inner circle and former Secretary of the Security Council, told the Russian newspaper, Kommersant, that Trump was duty-bound to act on his words.
He continued:
"To achieve success in the elections, Donald Trump relied on certain forces to which he has corresponding obligations. And as a responsible person, he will be obliged to fulfill them."
He was speaking of US policy in regard to Nord Stream and the current Russo-Ukrainian War. I wonder what he meant by "certain forces?"
Missing intelligence
During the final days of Trump's presidency in 2020, a binder went missing. The content of the binder was highly classified raw intelligence gathered by the US and and NATO allies.
Most importantly, the binder contained detailed information about Russia's interference into the 2016 elections.
In fact, Trump specifically requested the CIA to send him the binder shortly before leaving office. This means that the CIA send classified information about US election interference by Russia in 2016 - which resulted in Donald Trump's win - at Trump's request, and then the binder was lost.
If sirens aren't already going off in your head, they should be.
From the mouths of Russians
Arguably the most speculative, but perhaps the most interesting piece of Trump's Russia connection, is what Russians themselves have to say about it. The below video was shown to me while doing research for this letter.
One of the Russian snipers in the video, speaking about Trump's win, states that "all Russians know Trump is a Kremlin agent." Make of that what you will.
A trail of strange coincidences
Claims of Trump's connection to Russia are strong, but arguably inconclusive (most likely because of the money behind Trump). However, when stacked next to the undeniable link between him and Georgescu, whose campaign is littered with Russian interference, it takes on a new shape.
Some may claim that even if Russia did have a hand in Trump's wins, he may have just been an unwitting benefactor. However, I find that the unlikely option, given the obvious extent to which he has gone to cover it up.
Before I sign out, I would also like to note that Tesla opened their biggest showroom in Romania this September. Another coincidence? Why are there so many of them?
Next week, I'll be discussing how your 14th amendment rights will be violated upon Trump taking office. Please sign the petition to protect your enshrined rights here: https://resist.bot/petitions/PGZBAX.
